About FastNode

One region. Six sizes. A portal for the few jobs SSH can't do. We keep it that small on purpose.

What FastNode is

FastNode sells virtual servers in London on enterprise VMware vSphere. Each one has its own kernel, NVMe-backed storage, a 1 Gbps unmetered port and a dedicated IPv4. You get root, a choice of mainstream Linux images and Windows Server, and a portal for console access, rescue, reinstall, snapshots, backups, firewall rules and reverse DNS.

The customers we build for are developers and small engineering teams. People who already know what systemctl does, who would rather read a man page than a marketing page, and who care about the round trip from their server to their users in the UK.

What FastNode is not

Saying no to things is how a small product stays good. So, plainly:

  • Not managed hosting. We do not log in to your server, patch it, or tune your application. That is your job and your choice.
  • Not a global cloud. There is one region. If you need presence on several continents, use a provider built for that.
  • Not a platform of fifty services. We don't sell a proprietary queue, a lock-in database or a serverless runtime with its own billing model. Compute, disk and network only.
  • Not a shared hosting panel. No cPanel bundled into the image. Install one yourself if you want it.

Why only London

Latency is physics. A request from Manchester to a server in London crosses a few hundred kilometres of fibre; the same request to a server on another continent crosses thousands, then comes back. For an API, a booking system, a trading tool or a dashboard used across the UK, those milliseconds add up on every call and every retry.

Running one region also means we can be honest about it. We know the network, we know the hardware class, and every server on our price list lives in the same place. There is no fine print saying "location subject to availability". The London page explains how to measure the latency from your own network before you buy.

How we work

Prices you can predict

Six plans, flat monthly or annual prices, no setup fee, no traffic overage. We bill in US dollars because that is what our checkout supports today, and we say so on every page where a price appears rather than burying it. When an earlier version of this site showed sterling prices that did not match checkout, we treated that as a bug and fixed it.

Features that remove tickets

The portal exists to handle the jobs that would otherwise need a human: getting a console when the network config is broken, booting a rescue system to fix a bad fstab, reinstalling from a clean image, rolling back with a snapshot. If a feature does not save you a support ticket or a bad night, it probably does not belong. The platform page lists what is there today.

Automation without ceremony

Account API keys are scoped and shown once. Webhooks send account events to your endpoint. Everything else you automate with the tools you already use: SSH, Ansible, shell scripts, your CI system. See API keys and webhooks.

Claims we can back

We do not publish a feature until it exists, a location until it can be ordered, or a benchmark we have not run on hardware you can buy. If you find something on this site that does not match what the portal shows, email us and we will fix the site.

The company

FastNode is a trading name of FastNode Ltd.

  • Company number {{COMPANY_NUMBER}}.
  • Registered office: {{REGISTERED_ADDRESS}}.
  • Email: [email protected]

The registered office is a legal address, not a support desk. All customer contact goes through email and portal tickets, which is where the people who can actually help are reading. Details on the contact page.

Where to go next

Read the pricing to see the six sizes, the managed versus unmanaged comparison if you are not sure we are the right kind of provider, or go straight to the portal.

Questions

Who operates FastNode?

FastNode is operated by FastNode Ltd (company number {{COMPANY_NUMBER}}), registered office at {{REGISTERED_ADDRESS}}.

Do you offer managed hosting?

No. We run the hypervisor, storage and network. You run the operating system and everything on it. If you want someone else to patch and tune your server, a managed provider is a better fit.

Will you add more regions?

We have no other region to announce. Our focus is London and UK latency, and we will not list a location on this site until customers can actually order it.
