Billing

What you are charged, when, in which currency, and how to stop. No small print hidden on another page.

Currency: US dollars

Our checkout charges in US dollars. That is the honest answer, and it is why every price on this site has a dollar sign. We would rather you see the number that will actually leave your account than a sterling estimate that drifts from it.

If you pay with a card denominated in pounds, your card issuer converts the charge at its own rate on the day the payment is taken. Some issuers add a foreign-transaction fee; many current accounts and most business cards designed for travel do not. Check your card's terms if a few percent matters to you.

GBP invoicing is not available today. When it is, this page will say so and the price list will change with it.

Billing cycles

Every plan can be paid in one of two cycles:

  • Monthly. Charged once a month from the date you order. Easiest to change and easiest to cancel.
  • Annual. Charged once a year at ten times the monthly price. Twelve months of service for ten months of money.

The current amounts for each size are on the pricing page. They range from $5 a month for Spark to $28 a month for Hyper.

No setup fees

There is no one-off charge to create a server, on any plan, in either cycle. The first invoice is the first period of service and nothing else.

Invoices and receipts

Every invoice is generated in the portal under your account. From there you can see what is due, what has been paid, and download a copy for your records or your accountant. Transaction history and stored payment methods sit alongside them.

If you need a company name or a different billing address on future invoices, update your account profile in the portal before the next invoice is raised.

Renewals

Services renew automatically at the end of each cycle using the payment method on file. Renewal is at the price shown on your service, not at a higher post-promotion rate, because we do not run introductory pricing.

The portal emails you when an invoice is raised and when a payment succeeds or fails. Keep the email address on your account current; it is how we reach you about billing, abuse reports and maintenance.

Failed payments

Cards expire and banks block foreign-currency charges more often than you might expect, especially the first time a dollar charge appears on a sterling card. If a renewal fails:

  1. The invoice remains open and is marked unpaid in the portal.
  2. You receive an email asking you to update your payment details.
  3. Paying the invoice clears it. Nothing else needs to be done.

If an invoice stays unpaid for an extended period, the service may be suspended and, eventually, terminated. Suspension stops the server but keeps the data; termination deletes it. The exact timings are in the terms of service. If you know a payment will be late, open a ticket before it is due and tell us.

Changing plan

To move between sizes, open a ticket in the portal and say which plan you want. Support will schedule the change and explain how the price difference is handled for the remainder of your current cycle. We do not offer a self-service resize button yet, so please do not wait until the last day before a launch to ask.

Going down a size needs care: the target disk must be large enough for your data. If you are moving from Turbo's 80 GB to Boost's 40 GB, clean up first and tell us how much is actually in use.

Cancelling

You can request cancellation of a service from the portal. Choose whether it should end immediately or at the end of the current billing period. Ending at the end of the period is usually what you want: the server keeps running until the time you have paid for runs out.

Cancellation deletes the server and its disks. Snapshots and backups attached to that server go with it. Copy anything you need off the machine first; we cannot recover data from a terminated service.

Disputes and questions

If a charge looks wrong, email [email protected] or open a billing ticket with the invoice number before raising a chargeback with your bank. A ticket is faster for both of us, and a chargeback usually freezes the account while it is investigated.

Billing is provided by FastNode Ltd. Full contractual terms are in the terms of service; where this page and the terms differ, the terms win.

Questions

Will my invoice be in pounds?

No. Invoices and charges are in US dollars. If you pay with a sterling card, your statement shows the converted amount your bank applied on the day.

Do you add VAT?

Any tax that applies to your order is shown in the portal before you pay. Nothing is added after checkout.

What happens if a payment fails?

The invoice stays open and the portal shows it as unpaid. Update your card and pay the invoice to clear it. Services on long-overdue invoices may be suspended, and we contact you by email before that happens.

Can I get a refund for unused time?

Contact support with your invoice number. Refund handling is set out in our terms of service, which take precedence over anything summarised here.
